Brighter eyes

31 Dec

I have a thing for eye brightening serum or gel with the rolley-rolley ball bearings. It feels good on my skin and feels like the product would penetrate deep into my skin cells after being massaged in by the metal balls.

Soap & Glory Eye Brightening Moisture Serum ($26)

It is hydrating, but isn’t as effective as the Biotherm Aquasource Eye Perfection.

(I know Ginvera has the ball bearing eye cream/gel/serum too, but I don’t think I will try that. I have the Garnier one, it didn’t work for me.)

This brightening cream has a hint of lavender in it, unlike the Aquasource one which is transluscent. I feel that it is the lavender colour which reduces dullness, like lavender concealer. It will only make eyes brighter temporarily each time after usage.

For about a year now, I have been using Biotherm Aquasource Eye Perfection ($69). At the beginning, it was really effective. My fine lines disappeared and skin around the eye area became more moisturized. But gradually, my eye didn’t look as bright as when I first used it.

Then, I realised that my skin is already immuned to the product. I should constantly remind myself to change my skincare every 3 months.

Lesson learnt. No more going for the rolley-rolley balls. Perhaps using my finger to massage good gel or cream in  would be more effective. There are thousands and thousands of skincare product out there in the market, and I don’t believe I won’t find one that works for me.

Sexy Motherpucker

22 Oct

Want sexy lips like Angelina Jolie?

Look no further.

If you haven’t heard, there’s this lip plumping gloss called “Sexy Motherpucker”. And yours truly has tried, tested and seen the amazing effects of this plumping gloss.

You can get it from Sephora at $19.

Comes in many colours too.

On the Kits cosmetics website, it states - ”Extreme formula lip plumping gloss, with scientifically-proven plumping microspheres that explode in volume up to 10x when they come in contact with water. Also formulated with a rare circulation enhancing ingredient that gives your lips a little ‘electric’ buzz, to move more blood around the area, creating the swelling effect.”

Well, that is absolutely true!

Let me share my little experiment with you:

This is my little tube of plumping gloss, but I can’t figure out whether it is in Yummy Plum or Clear Apricot. The box is long gone by now.

The colour of the tube looks a little darker than the colour of the gloss inside the tube, but I like it my lips a lil pinkish. And this colour is quite perfect for me.

The gloss smells of chocolate. Weird how I found out. Guess I must have subconsciously smell all my makeup before using them.

Digressing, I really don’t like the smell of Chanel’s rouge. And I had to resist licking the lips because it smells really tasty!

The texture of this product is extremely sticky, a bit like honey. If you have long hair, be prepared to have hair stuck all over your lips!

But because of the thick formula, it was quite hard for the gloss to be dragged over across the lips.

My lips after 15 minutes.

It’s quite thick right? And I have full lips to begin with.

A minute after application, my lips started buzzing, vibrating, tingling and fizzing as the particles of the plumping gloss expanded.  It continued for another 5 minutes before my lips started looking swollen.

There’s no discomfort like extreme heat or pain, just lots of vibration on the lips. I was so shocked intially I even asked my sis if she felt the same.

I think this is a really great product because of how it makes my lips pucker. Also, the gloss will not come off on its own and the staying power is amazing.

I love how the colour made my lips a little more pink than before and the tingling sensation is quite fun!

In conclusion, I am glad that I have tried this gloss and I can’t wait to try out more Soap & Glory products!
